Eyewash Station

by Brad Keyes, CHSP, on Jan 13, 2021 1:00:00 AM

Q: Does an eyewash station need to be within OSHA time/distance travels for an outdoor generator having batteries that are not a sealed “maintenance-free” style?

A: That is to be determined by a risk assessment that you conduct. You need to determine if there is sufficient risk for a person to have acid splashed into their eyes while taking a sample for determining specific gravity. To be honest, I rarely see an eyewash station located outside for a generator.
