Over the past year, most traditional on-site surveys have been delayed or interrupted due to COVID-19 restrictions, but now that the caseloads across the country are decreasing, The Joint Commission is resuming normal activities.
Effective Monday, March 15, The Joint Commission will be returning to usual procedures, including unannounced survey team visits.
Hospitals will no longer receive phone calls or emails when it has been determined their area is low risk for an accreditation survey team to visit. Hospitals should continue to monitor the Notification of Scheduled Events section of their Joint Commission Connect page for notification on the first day of the unannounced survey.
